Tweet House Pals Converge for Aircraft Carrier Adventure

by Steve Broback on January 22, 2014

I just landed in San Diego and am on my way to connect with Tweet House pal Rocky Barbanica. Tomorrow he and I, along with 14 other adventure seekers will be off to the carrier USS Carl Vinson thanks to the efforts of long-time Parnassus associates, Guy Kawasaki and our good friend Dennis Hall.

First thing tomorrow morning, Rocky and I along with Diana Weynand, Peg Fitzpatrick, Analisa Farias, Nick Turner, Brett Murray, Stephen Bustin, Susan Katz Keating, Christian Rahl, Don Levy, and Phil Giorgando will meet at the Naval Base San Diego to prepare for our flight in a C-2 Greyhound transport aircraft to experience a tail hook landing on the Vinson many miles offshore.

This is one of many great military and flight experiences we’ve been excited to be a part of, and are looking forward to documenting our trip. Other VIP and blogger embarks and parties we’ve participated in can be found here and here.

Several posts by our teammates have been published already, (here, here, here, and here) and these present details of what we will experience. One striking fact is that the Vinson is the ship that delivered Osama Bin Laden to his ultimate destination.

While Internet access will be restricted during our time on the ship, please follow the hashtag #vinsonembark and the blogs/accounts listed above to get the full story when we get back to full connectivity!
