We’re excited that The Tweet House has been included as an official part of the January Consumer Electronic Show editorial program for 2011. We’re organizing a half-day “mini conference” covering all things Twitter and social. The event is called The Tweet House Presents: Social Media Success Stories, and will be held on January 7.
The folks at CES have asked us to provide five main themes/topics that will define the event. Below is what we’ve come up with:
- Building online followership, fans, and community
- Monitoring and mining, top tools and techniques
- Campaigns and promotions: Appropriate methods that generate results
- Measurement and ROI: What metrics do industry leaders rely on?
- Workflow and staffing: Setting prioritizes and allocating resources
We’d be interested in knowing what we’ve missed here. What major themes would be better? (we’ll be probing for specific sessions later)… Please comment here or tweet us: @tweethouse.
As we look for valid case studies, we’ve been talking with various consumer electronics companies that have effectively navigated the social media space. If you work for with a recognized CE brand and have a story to tell, let us know!

I couldn’t resist. I scanned the cover of one of my favorites (that I bought new in 1971…) after hearing about the recent “banning” of our friends the Suicide Girls by the organizers of Comic-con.

My photoshopping depicts what I playfully guess is the fear being experienced by the SDCC organizers as they ponder the notion of seeing dozens of young, attractive women descend upon the show floor.
This terror apparently is not being experienced by show attendees on Twitter who are largely (ten to one) tweeting in favor of seeing SG at Comic-Con (and will I hope come join them at our party!)
Some of the more prominent (and typical) tweets are listed below:
@halfbrown: @SuicideGirls Banned From Comic-Con? http://ki.am/dsNBcM | They were very professional around my kids @ #EmeraldCityComicon.
@RavenKilna: @SuicideGirls So the booth babe bimbos who are scantily clad are OK but Girls with ink and personalities are not allowed at at SDCC?! ….OK
@DonCarlitos: SuicideGirls Banned From Comic-Con? #ComicCon #comix #censorship #WTF #SuicideGirls #dumbmoves #WonderCon #Glanzer http://bit.ly/bdOI7T
@emixmanav: There is one angry pink-headed bisexual Asian writing very angry letter to Comic Con for taking her fun=@SuicideGirls away. VERY BITTER.
@kmellon: SG are among the least offensive things you can see at SDCC RT @HackinTimSeeley: SuicideGirls banned from Comicon(…): http://bit.ly/cIjbWK
@j9drost: @mattzog You get declined, @Suicide_Girls get declined… the show’s going downhill. Bummer. #sdcc
@blambot: did SDCC wait a whole YEAR to bring it to Suicide Girls attention? Isn’t that something you’d mention AT THE TIME? Fishy.
@GailSimone: SDCC, please reconsider not allowing the Suicide Girls to have a booth. They add to the convention! http://bit.ly/bWYZoA
@Aronhead : I have decided to stand firm in my support of the Suicide Girls. I will not be attending SDCC until they lift the SG ban! Who’s with me?
