Developing for the Millennial Market: What Drives Downloads

Developers, content providers, and marketers are again dealing with a tectonic shift in audience preferences. Sales of smartphones and tablets have now eclipsed that of PCs and laptops, and much of television watching is now happening on iPads. Leading the charge into this new world of the small screen is the “Generation Y” demographic, which is adopting and engaging with these devices at double the rate of the old-timers.

In this session we’ll see what opportunities exist to drive revenue and engagement in the mobile space, and our panelists will discuss what approaches in the gaming, social, content, and utility domains make for compelling (and irresistibly downloadable) apps.

3:50 – 4:30pm

Anatomy of a Twitter Campaign: Case Studies in Driving Conversion

Twitter is built for viral communication. Tweets are public by default, and the platform has matured alongside all kinds of brand involvement, as customer service accounts turned to Twitter as a way to reach large numbers of people quickly and efficiently. As a result, Twitter has a language and an environment where brands and individuals play nicely together, and the result is a powerful forum for the right companies to spread the right ideas.

Even Twitter’s ad platform works. Engagement levels for promoted tweets are, Twitter’s CEO Dick Costolo says, “incredibly high.” In this panel, Chris Perry and Steve Broback will tell you about their different approaches to marketing on Twitter, what has worked, what hasn’t, and how they’ve gotten the most out of Twitter as a promotional platform.

4:40 – 4:55pm
